Researchers from the High Energy Density Science division at SLAC have unveiled a new mechanism that could power the acceleration of the most energetic particles in the universe in the jets of supermassive black holes.
Frederico Fiuza received the 2018 APS Thomas H. Stix Award for Outstanding Early Career Contributions to Plasma Physics. The Thomas H. Stix award recognizes an individual researcher who has made outstanding contributions (theoretical, experimental, computational, or technical) in plasma physics early in their career.
