Announcing 3rd High-Power Laser Workshop

By HED

October 5-6, 2015

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory Menlo Park, CA

This workshop will bring together the international science community to discuss recent experimental results from matter in extreme conditions (MEC) enabled by the combination of high-power laser driv- ers with the world-class LCLS X-ray beam. We will discuss novel experiments in the high-pressure regime created by nanosecond lasers and in particular discuss results obtained with the recently commis- sioned 25 TW-laser. We will describe the scientific opportunities at the MEC instrument and provide time to discuss important physics proposals and experi- mental needs for cutting-edge research with the upcoming 200 TW-laser that is expected to become available shortly after the workshop.

The workshop will provide opportunities for presenta- tions by students and postdocs in discussion and poster sessions. Sponsor exhibits will be on display throughout the duration of the workshop.

Organizers:

  • Cindy Bolme, Los Alamos National Laboratory
  • Siegfried Glenzer, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory Alan Fry, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

Important Dates:

  • Registration deadline: September 25, 2015 Poster abstracts due by: September 15, 2015 PDF of final poster due by: September 25, 2015
